Amorphous

This piece is a two tile ceramic mural depicting a female figure. The tiles were hand built, glazed and fired. Three glazes were layered and applied directly to the bisque tile, creating a fluid, painterly surface through their interaction in the kiln. The figure emerges from the tile ground in low relief, her form defined mostly by the movement of the glaze. The resulting surface is raw and organic, with pooling and bleeding glaze.
