This piece depicts the shooting of Alex Pretti by an ICE agent in Minneapolis MN on January 7, 2026. The composition is a composite based on numerous photographs taken by observers at the scene, with artistic liberty taken to emphasize or deemphasize certain elements (multiple figures were eliminated from the photographs, storefronts were moved, colors were changed, etc.) in an attempt to transform the event into a visually evocative scene.
